What is A TRASHTALK?

A TrashTalk consists of having regenerative discussions about our role as makers, consumers, and humans in the face of the environmental crisis. The environment is something that we interact with everyday whether we are aware of it or not. How we decide to live our lives, what we buy and throw out, and our relationship to what we make has a huge impact on the world. We all think about it to some degree or another, yet it mostly goes unspoken. What a TrashTalk aims to do is help us face this issue by helping us to pay more attention, and to then approach it in a proactive way that inspires a new understanding of ourselves in relationship to the environment.

"Let’s talk about trash. The environment is something that we interact with everyday whether we are aware of it or not. How we decide to live our lives, what we buy and throw out, and our relationship to what we make has a huge impact on the world. We all think about it to some degree or another, yet it mostly goes unspoken.

This TrashTalk workshop will take participants through a journey of questioning our role as makers, consumers, and humans in the face of the environmental crisis. Through a series of interactive engagements, it will help us not only to become more aware, but inspire positive action through shifting how we understand ourselves in relationship to the natural world."
